Getting Started
************

I wanted to provide some quick first steps for getting the game started.

This forum provides some background on the project, FAQs, and provides a place for discussion on game mechanics, improvements, and other features.

Bug reports are being tracked at github.com/Code60Home/fbs -- as you play Fleet Battle School, if you notice any bugs or crashes, please provide us a note on this site. (It's set up on Github to provide a site which is accessible from NMCI.)

The Windows version of the software can be downloaded from:
s3.amazonaws.com/JohnTillerSoftware/FleetBattleSchool/FleetBattleSchool_111.msi

The Android version is available at:
s3.amazonaws.com/JohnTillerSoftware/FleetBattleSchool/com.johntillersoftware.fbs.apk

And the Macintosh version is available at:
s3.amazonaws.com/JohnTillerSoftware/FleetBattleSchool/FleetBattleSchool.pkg

The Windows and Macintosh version have one-time infrastructure software that needs to be installed first.
Windows:

Macintosh:
s3.amazonaws.com/JohnTillerSoftware/FleetBattleSchool/MonoFramework-MDK-4.0.4.1.macos10.xamarin.x86.pkg

There is an iPad version of Fleet Battle School, but testers must be signed up with the Apple Testflight Program. We are eager to support testers, please let us know if you would be interested and we can work through the process of getting you signed up for the test.

Atfp,

When you touch the screen to select a unit and hold for a sec ("long press") a red circle should appear around the unit. You should then be able to drag your finger across the screen and an arrow should follow indicating the the path the unit will follow.

Check out the video on the YouTube video thread.

If you continue to have problems let me know. I can skype you or just call and walk you through it.

Hey, sorry to nag with the same old question, but I'm still seeing access denied messages for both the framework and game (Mac versions). I looked for the other thread but just found windows versions. Thanks, excited to try the game!

That worked, but looks like I'll need to use the windows version instead (can't update my mac OS, unfortunately). Any chance you could give me access to the windows version of the game (the framework link works fine). Thanks, surely this'll be the last time I bug you!
